Histocompatibility Technician

Job Summary

Performs complex transplant related compatibility testing on human blood and tissues to provide accurate data for optimal donor/recipient matching and monitoring of pre and post transplant states. The Histcompatibility Technician is capable of performing all of the tests in the clinical immunogenetics section.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor Degree that includes courses in biological sciences, chemistry and mathematics.
2. Minimum one (1) year clinical laboratory experience in a hospital, commercial or research lab setting.
3. Previous specialized experience in histocompatibility and/or immunogenetics is preferred.
4. Basic computer knowledge is required.
5. Skills in lab information systems is desirable.
6. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills.
7. Excellent English communication (verbal and written) skills, including by telephone.
