Medical Technologist, Supervisor

The Medical Technologist Supervisor maintains a laboratory department under the direction of the lab manager and is directly involved in training lab personnel, developmental work on new tests, TQM activities, continuing education, maintenance of compliance for accrediting/regulatory agencies, personnel scheduling, personnel performance evaluation, and, where required, performs laboratory test procedures.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology preferred
2. Current certification or registration as a Medical Technologist such as ASCP, NCA, HEW or equivalent
3. Valid and current State of Hawaii license as a Medical Technologist
4. Minimum five years clinical laboratory experience in a hospital or commercial lab setting. The Medical Director may use discretion for an individual with less than 5 years experience.
5. Additional two years supervisory experience in a hospital lab setting.
6. Basic knowledge and skills in lab information systems is desirable
